Cadillac All-Wheel-Drive Models Gaining Traction
Posted on: Tuesday, March 15, 2011
It's no suprise that the Cadillac CTS is a top model. Thanks to the addition of all-wheel drive as an option for the CTS, Cadillac has seen a significant increase in sales for its all-wheel-drive models. AWD comes in handy when there is inclement weather, which this winter definitely brought.
Cadillac has enjoyed seeing a significant increase in sales for its all-wheel-drive models, thanks largely to the addition of AWD as an option on the CTS. Cadillac's AWD models now account for one-third of SRX, almost half of CTS and three-quarters of Escalade retail sales.
AWD is gaining traction because Cadillac’s advanced AWD systems can quickly react to slippery roads by shifting more power to the wheel or wheels with the best traction. With the AWD technology you are better able to maintain control of your vehicle. An obviously important addition when we have unusual winter when Mother Nature brought an unseasonal amount of ice and snow. The AWD system will perform impeccably when those thunderstorms roll through North Texas this spring.
The Metroplex Cadillac Dealers want you to know that Cadillac’s AWD doesn’t just react to the road in bad weather. The Cadillac AWD system also enhances performance during warmer conditions. The AWD system on the SRX, which comes standard as a front-wheel-drive vehicle, helps improve passing acceleration by transferring more torque to the rear wheels. The Cadillac CTS, a standard rear-wheel-drive vehicle, uses its AWD system to help prevent over-steer during aggressive cornering. This is important for Cadillac’s two CTS-V Coupes that will begin their racing tour on the SCCA World Challenge. Be sure to watch the races that start in March!
“Cadillac’s investment in advanced AWD systems across the line-up is enhancing the brand’s reputation for performance,” said Don Butler, vice president of Cadillac marketing. “We’re able to offer luxury buyers exceptional ride, handling and control on a wide range of road conditions.” Cadillac has a long history of being a progressive trendsetting in the automotive industry. See for yourself why Cadillac has been, and still is, the Standard of the World.
